We are on the lookout for compassionate and proactive Teaching Assistants to support students in both primary and secondary education settings, offering a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference.

As a Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will be integral in creating a supportive learning environment for students with SEMH needs.

You'll work alongside classroom teachers to provide focused, individualized support, helping students manage their emotional and social challenges while fostering their academic progress.

Whether in one-on-one settings or small groups, your role will be to help students develop the resilience and skills they need to succeed.

  • Offering tailored support to students, focusing on emotional regulation and life skills
  • Collaborating with staff to create and implement individualized learning plans for students with mental health challenges
  • Assisting in monitoring student progress and adapting support where necessary
  • Upholding confidentiality while adhering to safeguarding policies
  • Assisting in managing classroom dynamics and addressing the unique needs of each student
  • Minimum of GCSEs or Level 2 Equivalent in Maths
  • Previous experience working in an educational or mental health setting with children, adolescents, or adults
  • Solid understanding of common mental health issues such as anxiety, ADHD, and trauma
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with students and colleagues
  • Calm and effective under pressure, able to handle challenging situations with care
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and best practices in SEMH support
  • Awareness of safeguarding procedures and the ability to respond appropriately
