We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant and inclusive SEN school in Bolton, which caters to students with a range of special educational needs. This role will specifically involve supporting a student with Autism and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) to help them thrive in our nurturing and specialist environment.

  • Provide 1:1 support to a secondary-aged student with Autism and MLD, helping them to engage with the curriculum and develop key skills.
  • Assist with personal, social, and academic development in both classroom and specialist settings.
  • Work closely with the classroom teacher and SEN team to implement tailored learning strategies and support plans.
  • Promote an inclusive and supportive environment that meets the student’s individual needs.
  • Encourage positive social interaction and independence through structured activities and interventions.
  • Monitor and report progress, adjusting strategies where necessary to ensure effective learning outcomes.
  • A welcoming and supportive environment with excellent SEN facilities, including sensory rooms and therapy spaces.
  • A commitment to your professional development, with ongoing training and opportunities to progress.
  • The chance to make a meaningful impact on a young person’s educational journey in a specialist school setting.
  • Experience working with children or young adults with Autism and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) in an educational or care setting would be an advantage.
  • A compassionate and patient approach with the ability to adapt to individual needs.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
  • A willingness to collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for the student.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent) are desirable but not essential if you have the right experience and attitude.
