About Us
We are a vibrant and inclusive primary school located in Blackley, North Manchester, seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant with a background in sports coaching to join our team. Our school is committed to providing a well-rounded education for our students, with a strong focus on physical activity, health, and wellbeing.

The Role
We are looking for an individual who can bring their passion for both education and sports to help inspire and support our students. The successful candidate will:

  • Work closely with class teachers to support learning across all subjects.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of physical education lessons and extracurricular sports activities.
  • Encourage students to develop healthy habits, teamwork, and a positive attitude towards sports and physical education.
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support for students where needed.
  • Help manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting students’ learning in the classroom.
  • Planning and leading sports sessions and activities.
  • Supervising students during break times and other school activities.
  • Assisting with the assessment and monitoring of student progress.
  • Supporting children with individual needs.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • A recognized sports coaching qualification (Level 1 or 2) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children in an educational or sports setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for sport and physical activity.
  • A patient and empathetic approach to working with children.
  • An ability to inspire and motivate students.

Desirable

  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting.
  • First Aid qualification.
