Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to support the learning and development of students across various subjects within our secondary school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and activities tailored to the needs of individual students.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students who require additional assistance with understanding concepts or completing assignments.
  • Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and implement strategies for supporting students with diverse learning needs.
  • Assist in the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
  • Supervise students during class activities and ensure their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Provide feedback to teachers on student progress and participation.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of GCSE qualifications (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
  • Previous experience working in an educational setting, preferably as a teaching assistant or in a related role.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to support the needs of both students and teachers.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in responding to the changing demands of the school environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional qualifications or training in education, child development, or special educational needs (SEN) support.
  • Experience working with students with SEN or other additional learning needs.
  • Knowledge of relevant educational policies and practices.
