Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a Psychology Graduate to join one of our client schools in Durham as a Learning Support Assistant. Are you interested in starting a role in education?   • This position will start in June 2024 and is a full-time role.
  • The pay for this position is between £400 and £450 per week.

This position is highly important and will come will a lot of responsibility. The successful candidate may be working alongside students who have additional educational requirements. You must be fully aware of Special Educational Needs (SEN), as well as Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) and the impact that this can have on a child’s behaviour. You will be working with small groups of students, or 1:1, to support them with their additional learning requirements.

Requirements

  • It is essential that you are a recent Psychology Graduate, looking to start a career in education.
  • You must be willing to apply for a fully enhanced DBS check and be able to provide at least two employment references.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting the students with their Educational Healthcare Plans (EHCPs).
  • Building relationships with the students to be able to support them in their development.
  • Monitoring the progression of the pupils, being able to give feedback to the pupils, the teachers, and their parents.
  • Being aware of all safeguarding procedures and dealing with any situations that may arise.
