A primary behaviour provision in Manchester is looking for a teaching assistant to take on a long-term role within the school. The school works with children between the ages of 5 and 11 that are not currently in mainstream schooling due to various social, emotional and mental health needs. The children within the school are on an EHCP, and you will be expected to follow this when supporting in the school to ensure all needs are met.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Work to manage challenging behaviour to maintain focus within classrooms
  • Help children with any work to ensure they can progress
  • Work with parents and teachers to support children in line with EHCP
  • Provide feedback on progress and behaviour to staff and students

Experience needed for this role:

  • Experience in a support role at a school
  • Management of challenging behaviour in schools
  • Knowledge of the primary curriculum
  • Knowledge and experience of EHCPs and how they are implemented

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
