We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Autism Teaching Assistant to join our team. As an Autism Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) to reach their full potential in an educational setting. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to implement individualised learning plans and provide tailored support to students with ASD.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in the classroom and other learning environments.
  • Assist in the implementation of behaviour intervention plans for students with Autism.
  • Support students in developing social skills, communication skills, and independent living skills.
  • Adapt learning materials and activities to meet the diverse needs of students with ASD.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents/guardians.
  • Assist with the supervision of students during lunchtime, and other non-academic activities.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with special needs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
