Hours: 08.30 – 15.30

Pay: £12 - £14 an hour (paid weekly)

About the Role:

Teaching Personnel is seeking a compassionate, patient, and motivated Teaching Assistant for a Behaviour Referral Unit in a leading Welsh speaking school in Cardiff. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for supporting students with behavioural challenges and a commitment to promoting positive educational outcomes. **Fluency in Welsh (spoken and written) is essential for this role.**

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with behavioural challenges.
  • Implement individual behaviour plans and strategies tailored to each student’s needs.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and other support staff to create a cohesive support network for students.
  • Assist in planning and delivering activities and interventions that promote positive behaviour and engagement.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents/guardians.
  • Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • **Fluency in Welsh (spoken and written) is essential.**
  • Previous experience working with children or young people, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations.
  • A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs.

Desirable but not essential:

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience working in a behaviour referral unit or similar environment.
  • Knowledge of the Welsh educational system and curriculum.
