Teaching Assistants required for a forward thinking, aspirational and vibrant Special School in Salisbury. They are a supportive and caring school who strive to enable everyone to be the best they can be. They not only believe in the extraordinary but seek it out in every student they work with and every staff member who works for them.

At present the school caters for approximately 142 young people between the ages of 4 and 19 who have PMLD, SLD or Complex Needs. A significant number of students also have a diagnosis of autism.

Rated Good by Ofsted.

Your role as Teaching Assistant will include the below duties:

  • Provide tailored support to pupils to enable them to develop and maintain their learning and living skills
  • Ensure safeguarding of all pupils
  • To provide personal care as required
  • Meet the physical, emotional and educational requirements of students
  • Observe pupils and report feedback to the class teacher

We are in search of Teaching Assistants who:

  • Have experience supporting children or adults with special needs or mental health difficulties
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Are nurturing and empathetic
  • Have a great sense of humour
  • Are an adaptable, collaborative team player
  • Are patient with a flair for celebrating the smallest of successes

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
