About Us: Teaching Personnel are looking to appoint a part-time Teaching Assistant to join our Primary School division starting in September 2024. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Primary School Teaching Assistant to join our team and support our mission of fostering the academic and personal growth of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students to enhance their learning.
  • Help prepare and organize teaching materials and classroom resources.
  • Support students' social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Supervise students during classroom activities, break times, and outings.
  • Assist with the assessment and monitoring of student progress, providing feedback to the class teacher.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect and a love of learning.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing updates on student progress and addressing any concerns.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
  • Ensure adherence to school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health and safety regulations.

Qualifications Required:

  • A minimum of a Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (Level 3 preferred).
  • Previous experience working with primary school students in an educational setting.
  • Basic first aid certification is an advantage.
  • A clear DBS check (or equivalent background check).

Skills Required:

  • Classroom Support: Ability to assist in the delivery of lessons and manage classroom activities.
  • Child Development Knowledge: Understanding of the developmental stages and needs of primary school children.
  • Communication: Effective verbal and written communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to prepare and organize teaching materials and resources.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to work with children of varying abilities and backgrounds.
  • Patience and Empathy: Ability to understand and address the individual needs of students.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to address and resolve issues that arise in the classroom.
