Position: Teaching Assistant

Location: Lytham, Lancashire

Contract: Full-time, temporary to permanent

Start Date: 3rd September 2024

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Teaching Assistant at a secondary school in Lytham. The school is seeking an individual who has prior experience working with students who exhibit Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. This full-time position will commence on 3rd September 2024.

The school's exceptional Senior Leadership Team has received commendation from former staff members, and it holds an impressive "good" rating from Ofsted. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with classes comprising up to 26 pupils, collaborating directly with class teachers and the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo).

Responsibilities:

-          Provide valuable support to classes with up to 26 pupils.

-          Maintain open lines of communication with class teachers and the SENDCo.

-          Track and monitor the progress of individual pupils.

-          Offer support to pupils with SEN and SEMH challenges.

-          Conduct one-on-one sessions and assist small groups of students.

-          Deliver intervention sessions, particularly in English, Maths, and Science.

-          Demonstrate commitment to professional development by enrolling in CPD courses to enhance your skills and knowledge as a Teaching Assistant.
