Role Overview:

Join a dedicated team at an Ofsted-rated good secondary school in Newcastle as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant. Your role will involve supporting teachers and students to enhance the learning experience and ensure academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Student Support: Provide individual and group support, assist students with special educational needs, monitor and report on progress, and offer constructive feedback.
  • Classroom Assistance: Help deliver engaging lessons, prepare teaching materials, manage classroom behaviour, and supervise students during lessons and activities.
  • Administrative Support: Prepare classroom displays, undertake administrative tasks, and assist in organising school events and trips.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work with teachers, support staff, and external professionals, communicate with students and parents, and participate in staff meetings and training.

Requirements:

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
  • Experience as a teaching assistant, preferably in a secondary school
  • Strong understanding of the curriculum
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a supportive approach
  • Strong organisational skills
