Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Tottenham, North London
Start Date: 4th September 2024
Status: Long-term to Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in Tottenham. This role focuses on supporting a Year 1 student with an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP), who will also spend part of the time in the Reception class for consistency.

Role Overview:

  • Supportive Role: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be instrumental in providing tailored support to a student with special educational needs, ensuring they receive the best possible educational experience.
  • Desired Experience: Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant in the UK is highly preferred for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer personalised support to a Year 1 student with an EHCP, facilitating their integration into both Year 1 and Reception environments.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to the student's needs.
  • Create a welcoming and inclusive classroom atmosphere as an SEN Teaching Assistant.
  • Work closely with teachers and staff to provide comprehensive support.
  • Engage with the student in various educational and recreational activities.

Requirements:

  • Prior UK-based experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A compassionate and patient approach to supporting children with special educational needs.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
