Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a SEN Special School in Horsham.

The school caters for students ages 3-11 who have moderate to severe and multiple learning difficulties including physical disabilities, sensory impairment, ASC, and SEMH. The school’s holistic approach to meet pupils needs and intends to develop self-discipline, independence and autonomy in preparation for adulthood.

The school endeavours to provide a safe, supportive, caring and dynamic environment.

This role will include:

  • Support pupils throughout the school day
  • Support pupils across the specialist provision
  • Incorporate the use of senses into learning
  • Help pupils to support their speech, language and communication
  • De-escalate challenging situations
  • Consider the choices, needs and wishes of each pupils and encourage them to make the right choices for learning

The school require positive individuals which can make a palpable impact on the students at the school. The perfect candidate should be empathetic, an excellent communicator and compassionate. The candidate should help support the needs of each individual pupil and want to help them to achieve their goal.

The school will consider applications from candidates who have previous experience supporting people with SEND, have previous care experience or those willing to do training upon the subject.

Team Teach is desirable.

This role is a fulltime role along with school time hours.

The pay for this role is £12.90 - £13.50 per hour dependant on experience and responsibilities within the role.
