Start Date: Following October Half-Term
Position: 1:1 Teaching Assistant (ASD Support)

Are you passionate about making a difference in a child's educational journey? We're seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team at a welcoming secondary school in Accrington. This role involves providing 1:1 support to a pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to help them achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer tailored support to a pupil with ASD, ensuring they can fully engage in classroom activities.
  • Work closely with teachers and the SEN team to implement individualised education plans (IEPs).
  • Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Encourage positive social interactions and assist with the development of essential life skills.
  • Monitor and report on the pupil's progress, adapting strategies as needed.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with children, ideally in a 1:1 or special educational needs (SEN) setting.
  • Understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder and effective support strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, pupils, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, SEN qualifications) are desirable but not essential.
