The Headteacher and governors of a reputable Primary School located on the out-skirts of Chorley are on the look out for a Primary Teaching Assistant to teach a mixed Reception/Y1 class from October 2024. This is a full-time Teaching Assistant commitment. This role has cropped up due to a resignation and therefore, there is the potential for a permanent contract from April 2025.

Start date: October 2024

Duration: Two terms on a temporary contact, with the view to apply for a permanent role to start from September 2024.

Recruitment process: The Headteacher is keen to receive CVs from both experienced practitioners and Teaching Assistants new to the profession. The headteacher is also eager to do a paid trial for the shortlisted candidate.

The Headteacher in school is committed to life-long learning, therefore welcomes all teaching staff and support staff to participate in half-termly CPD; SLT are well respected by staff, parents, and pupils. The class is made up of less than 15 pupils and there is also a full time Teaching Assistant on hand to support you in your role. This school boasts excellent facilities that offer children the best opportunities to learn and develop from EYFS-KS2.

Essential Requirements:

Knowledgeable and innovative Early Years educator with a genuine interest in working within a small Primary School. Capable of offering a stimulating learning journey which is defined by a rich and well-structured curriculum. 

Passionate about inspiring and motivating young minds and keen to grow within an incredible teaching and learning environment. Well humoured and keen to become part of a small school community.

Confident delivering excellent phonics teaching.

Level 2 (minimum) Childcare or Health & Social care qualification or Degree.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
