Position: SEN Teaching Assistant (Autism)
Location: Mainstream School, East Lancashire
Contract Type: Full-Time, temp-perm

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant mainstream school in East Lancashire. This is an exciting opportunity to support children with Autism, helping them to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with Autism.
  • Assist the class teacher in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Adapt teaching materials to suit the individual needs of each child.
  • Foster positive relationships and encourage students’ social and emotional development.
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to the SENCO and teaching staff.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with Autism or other Special Educational Needs.
  • A caring and patient attitude, with a passion for helping children succeed.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A relevant qualification in education or SEN (desirable but not essential).
  • Ability to adapt to the needs of a dynamic mainstream school environment.
