We are working with a large mainstream primary school in York who urgently need a Teaching Assistant with a specialism in working with children who have an SEN diagnosis. Focusing the majority of your work around a pupil with high emotional needs, your input, support, and nurturing approach will help the pupil not only succeed in a classroom setting but thrive and have a positive educational experience. Although the pupil is deemed low risk, they require emotional reassurance to feel settled in the classroom and remain in the best learning environment. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s development.

The Role:

  • You will work 8.30 am - 3.30 pm, Monday to Friday, term time only.

  • As a specialist teaching assistant, you will support pupils who require additional help, focusing particularly on one pupil, managing their behaviour, and ensuring they achieve their daily goals.
  • The role will be varied, involving both 1:1 support and classroom-wide assistance to ensure all pupils meet curriculum standards.

The school is looking for someone with experience in providing this kind of support and who can commit to working 5 days a week. If you require flexible working, there may be other roles available, so feel free to get in touch to discuss your needs.

We Offer:

  • Exciting opportunities and free or discounted CPD opportunities.
  • A range of roles across local schools in York, providing diverse experiences.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children
  • Willing to apply for a Child Workforce DBS
