Position: Teaching Assistant
Responsible to: Learning Support Manager
Hours: 27.5 hours per week (8:35am – 3:05pm, Mon-Fri)

Start: ASAP

Term Time Only: 45.07 weeks, including Inset Days

We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team and help students become independent and resilient learners. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in raising the educational achievement of our school.

Support for Students:

  • Assist students in developing strategies to overcome learning differences.
  • Help students reach their academic and social potential.
  • Supervise and ensure student safety and behavior during lessons and practical tasks.
  • Work with individuals or groups to achieve educational goals.
  • Provide timely feedback on student progress, including compiling evidence and completing documentation.
  • Support students’ medical needs through training.
  • Be flexible and adaptable.
  • Assist students during exams.

Support for Teachers:

  • Support students as directed by teachers, SENDCo, and other staff.
  • Help prepare differentiated resources and provide other assistance.
  • Accompany students on out-of-school and extra-curricular activities.
  • Report any concerns in line with the school’s Child Protection Policy.
  • Assist in delivering intervention work and whole class activities.
  • Guide students in practical subjects, ensuring health and safety under the teacher’s guidance.

Support for the School:

  • Promote equality of opportunity in line with school policies.
  • Perform other duties as required, commensurate with the grade and qualifications.
  • Follow the school’s Safeguarding procedures to protect student safety.
