Position Available: Teaching Assistant

Start Date: November 2024

Contract Type: Temporary or Permanent (post an 18-week hire period)

Working Hours: Part-time (19.5 hours/week) or Full-time (32.5 hours/week)


About the Role: Teaching Personnel is excited to partner with a reputable 11-16 mixed comprehensive trust school in Bournemouth, rated ‘GOOD’ by Ofsted with ‘outstanding qualities’. The school is currently enhancing its SEN Department and Student Support Centre, fostering closer collaboration to better support students’ individual needs. We are seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join our team starting November 2024.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to students with Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Assist students with various special educational needs, including social communication difficulties, autism, dyslexia, or behavioral challenges.
  • Offer 1:1 or small group support within the classroom, following the class teacher’s guidance.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience with young people with special educational needs or social communication difficulties is a plus, but not required.
  • A strong passion for helping young people overcome learning barriers.
  • Excellent communication, numeracy, and literacy skills.
  • Ability to effectively promote these skills to achieve outstanding academic results.

Additional Information:

  • Previous school experience is not essential. We value personal experience with children and SEN needs, or other transferable skills such as sports coaching.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
