Teaching Assistant required at a school that provides a relationship-based, high-quality education for young people from 5 to 19 with special educational needs. Most of the young people have Autism and/or Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. They provide a unique, therapeutic program of education for all students.

The school are proud of their excellent on site facilities including 55 acres of woodland, a swimming pool and gym (both of which are available for staff members use), football pitches, a full library, science labs, specialist teaching rooms and dedicated drama, art and music spaces.

They also have a range of sensory spaces and quite zones where students are able to practice self regulation. They are also in the process of developing a garden where students will be able to grow their own food.

In this role, you will be supporting with education as well as social and emotional development. You will be supporting students in small groups or on a 1:1 basis.

To be considered for this role, it is essential you:

  • Have proven experience working in an educational setting or with children/adults that have special needs
  • Are active and enjoy spending time outside
  • Have a driving licence and access to a vehicle as the school is not easily accessed with public transport.
  • Are passionate, proactive and dedicated about improving the learning opportunities for children and young people
  • Have the ability to work with a range of children and young people with additional and complex needs
  • Are a team player who can build good working relationships with colleagues
  • Are flexible, enthusiastic and resilient, with a good sense of humour

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
