An Ofsted-rated GOOD primary school located in the heart of Cambridge is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their permanent staff team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
  • Working with individuals or small groups of children to provide targeted support, including children with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Assisting in the preparation of classroom materials and resources
  • Helping to maintain a positive, safe, and stimulating learning environment
  • Supporting pupils' social, emotional, and academic development
  • Supervising pupils during break times and ensuring their well-being
  • Attending meetings and training as required

Essential Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children, ideally within a primary school setting
  • A strong commitment to supporting children's learning and development
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Willingness to undertake further training as necessary

Desirable Qualifications and Skills:

  • A relevant Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Experience supporting children with SEN
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies
  • First aid training (or willingness to complete)

This is a permanent, full-time role starting in January 2025, or sooner if available. The successful candidate will be joining a welcoming school community with a strong emphasis on professional development and staff well-being.
