Teaching Assistant - Year 1 - Camden Borough - Long Term Role

A primary school in Camden Borough is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team on a long-term basis. The role involves working 1:1 with a Year 1 pupil who has Autism (ASD) and requires daily personal care support. This is an ASAP start following the October half-term.

The ideal Teaching Assistant will have previous experience working with children with ASD and understand the importance of patience, compassion, and consistency. The school is seeking a Teaching Assistant who is confident with behaviour management and can create a positive, supportive learning environment for the child.

Key Responsibilities for the Teaching Assistant:

  • Teaching assistant to provide 1:1 support for the Year 1 student, helping them with academic tasks and social development.
  • Teaching assistant to assist with daily personal care as required.
  • Work alongside the class teacher to ensure the child's needs are met and lessons are adapted accordingly.
  • Manage behaviour with a calm and understanding approach, creating a nurturing environment for the child.
