Job Advert: 1:1 Support Staff - SEMH Primary School (Wirral Area)

Are you passionate about making a difference in children's lives? Do you have experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are looking for dedicated, full-time staff to join a SEMH Primary School in the Wirral area, with an immediate start.

Position: 1:1 Support Staff
Location: Wirral, Merseyside
Contract: Full-time, immediate start

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to students with SEMH needs, helping them achieve their full potential.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to implement personalized support plans.
  • Build trusting and positive relationships with students to support their emotional and academic development.
  • Foster a collaborative environment with both staff and students to promote a supportive learning experience.
  • Assist in managing challenging behaviour in a calm and effective manner.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children with SEMH or SEN is preferable.
  • Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students and staff.
  • Resilient and reliable, with a calm and patient approach.
  • A passion for making a real difference in the lives of children.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a school or educational setting (preferably with SEN/SEMH children).
  • A positive, empathetic attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, while also showing initiative.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
