Responsibilities:
- Assist the lead teacher with daily classroom activities, including setting up materials, managing student behaviour, and facilitating group work.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who need additional help with their academic tasks and assignments.
- Help prepare instructional materials and resources, and assist in implementing lesson plans under the guidance of the teacher.
- Support the teacher in maintaining a positive and productive classroom environment, addressing minor issues, and encouraging student participation.
- Assist with grading assignments, taking attendance, and maintaining student records as required.
- Act as a liaison between students, teachers, and parents, providing updates on student progress and addressing any concerns.
- Oversee students during non-classroom activities, such as lunch and transitions between classes.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on educational best practices.
Requirements:
- Teaching Qualification desirable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and parents
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting student learning
- Previous experience in an educational setting is a plus, but not required
