Teaching Personnel are working with one of our partner secondary schools in the Corby area of Northamptonshire who are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, independent and motivated Technician to join thier brand-new school, which opened in September 2023. This is a unique opportunity to join a team who are instilling the virtues and values that will permeate the school for decades to come; getting it right from day one. They only have Year 7 in the initial intake but will eventually run a vertical tutoring model with six houses, including a 6th form house.

The Role:

The role is to provide effective support to the science, art and technology departments and to assist teachers in ensuring they have the resources they need to teach exciting and engaging lessons.

The successful candidate will understand the importance of organisation, communication and prioritisation in assisting staff across multiple departments, all with differing needs. Tasks will include (but are not limited to): the preparation of chemicals for science experiments; organising equipment within the prep rooms in science and technology; cutting wood/metal; ensuring art supplies and resources are organised and prepared; clearing away resources after practical lessons.

We are looking for someone with practical skills and knowledge who likes working as a team but can be an independent self-starter and work to deadlines. This role will begin as supporting widely across multiple departments but will likely become more specialised to an individual department as the school grows in size.

The Opportunity:

  • A brand new state of the art school that will steadily grow year on year
  • A post with the potential for future progression both within this role and the wider trust
  • The support of the wider trust network of experts and access to informal and formal professional development
  • A school with a passionate commitment to staff development
  • Staff social activities that include staff wellbeing activities
