As a Textiles Technician, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Textiles Department and ensuring smooth operation. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing materials and equipment for textile lessons.
  • Maintaining and organising the textiles workshop and storage areas.
  • Assisting teachers during practical lessons and demonstrations.
  • Ensuring all equipment is safely stored and maintained.
  • Supporting students with technical advice and guidance during practical sessions.
  • Managing inventory and ordering new supplies as needed.
  • Adhering to health and safety regulations within the department.

To be successful in this role, candidates should have:

  • A background in textiles, fashion, or a related field.
  • Previous experience working in a similar role, ideally within an educational setting.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
  • An Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
