Teaching Personnel is seeking an aspiring Computing Teacher to join an Ofsted-rated good secondary school in Stockport. This full-time position starts ASAP and continues until the end of the academic year, with the potential for the role to become permanent based on performance. The pay for this role ranges from £419.25 to £500 per week.

Role Overview:

As a Trainee Computing Teacher, you will be part of a dynamic and supportive teaching environment, gaining hands-on experience in delivering high-quality computing education. This role is ideal for recent graduates or individuals looking to transition into a teaching career, providing a pathway to becoming a fully qualified Computing Teacher.

Key Responsibilities:

Classroom Teaching and Support:

  • Assist in planning, preparing, and delivering engaging and interactive computing lessons under the guidance of experienced teachers.
  • Teach fundamental computing concepts, programming, and digital literacy to students of varying abilities.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them understand complex topics and complete assignments.
  • Utilize various teaching aids and technologies to enhance learning experiences and ensure lessons are accessible to all students.

Student Mentoring and Development:

  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, encouraging students to develop their skills and interest in computing.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress, providing constructive feedback and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Support students in developing problem-solving and critical-thinking skills essential for success in computing and technology fields.

Behaviour and Classroom Management:

  • Assist in managing classroom behavior, implementing school policies, and promoting a respectful and productive learning atmosphere.
  • Develop and use effective behavior management strategies to address any issues that arise and maintain a safe learning environment.
  • Supervise students during lessons, breaks, and extracurricular activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.

Collaboration and Professional Development:

  • Work closely with the Computing department and other teaching staff to plan and deliver cohesive educational programs.
  • Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the school's computing curriculum.

Administrative Duties:

  • Assist with administrative tasks related to the Computing department, such as maintaining records, preparing lesson materials, and organizing resources.
  • Help plan and participate in school events, competitions, and extracurricular activities related to computing and technology.
  • Contribute to the overall development and implementation of the school's educational policies and strategies.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Computing, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Passion for teaching and a strong desire to pursue a career in education.
