Position: Travel and Tourism Teacher

Location: Northampton

Teaching Personnel are actively recruiting for a Travel an Tourism Teacher to join one of our client colleges team as of September 2024. The College who have been rated a ‘Good’ college with outstanding features are based centrally to Northampton, on a large site with excellent facilities for Teaching and learning.

The role would be suitable for somebody who has experience or is looking to teach and develop students’ knowledge and skills for a career or progression to higher education within Travel and tourism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspire and Educate: Deliver engaging and interactive lessons in Travel and Tourism, covering key areas such as hospitality, travel operations, tourism marketing, and sustainable tourism.
  • Curriculum Development: Collaborate with the academic team to design and update curriculum materials, ensuring they are current and relevant to industry standards.
  • Student Support: Provide guidance and support to students, helping them achieve their academic and career goals through mentorship and personalized feedback.
  • Industry Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with industry partners to provide students with internship opportunities, guest lectures, and real-world insights.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Develop and implement assessment methods to evaluate student performance and progress effectively.

Requirements:

  • A background in travel and tourism with at least level 3 qualifications
  • Teaching experience or a recognized teaching qualification is preferred.
  • Extensive industry experience and up-to-date knowledge of travel and tourism trends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for teaching and a commitment to student success.
  • Organised and able to confidently plan high quality lessons in line with the national and school curriculum

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
