Tutor Expiring soon

Teaching Personnel

£20 - 25 per hour

Temporary | Part Time

I am looking for a tutor to support a Year 8 Looked After Child who lives in the LE12 area of Leicestershire. The student has been excluded from mainstream education so needs a tutor while a new school place is being sourced.

He requires tuition for 5 hours per day, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, delivering cross-curricular work which will need to be planned by the tutor. This role is temporary and will finish once the child goes into a new school placement.

This young person has been having 1:1 tutoring on an ongoing basis and has been engaging well, but the tutor is now going on maternity leave. The student will benefit from a very hands on, practical approach to his education. He also attends a group provision on Mondays and Fridays, hence why this role is part time only.

The ideal candidates for this role will be:

  • Experienced tutor who can deliver cross-curricular lessons which are creative and engaging
  • Confident and knowledgeable in supporting Looked After Children
  • Able to deal with challenging behaviour and disengagement accordingly
  • Able to plan and deliver work using a range of creative teaching methods
  • Able to produce competent weekly feedback forms to monitor academic progress
  • Able to liaise professionally with LAC officers, Social Workers, residential staff etc
  • Reliable at completing daily attendance registers

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see for details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
