Teaching Personnelare working in close partnership with an alternative provision within Burley to actively seek an enthusiastic, dynamic educator who has a keen passion in developing children academically and supporting them in meeting their targets.

The provision
The Secondary provision caters for children with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH). Children within these settings struggle to control their emotions and behaviours, therefore, need nurturing and emotional support.  The school have high expectations of attainment for all pupils with consistently applied support, tailored to each individual child where needed. 

Key information

  • Pay is negotiable dependent on experience.
  • Full-time role (Monday – Friday) (9am – 3pm)
  • Secondary Provision (11-16).
  • Applicants from Teachers, HLTAs and Support Assistants with previous experience supporting children with SEMH.
  • To work either in a library or a children’s residential settings.

The role

  • Use appropriate supplemental and intervention curriculum/materials that align with student’s skill
  • Know how to use and implement a range of effective strategies, as well as analyse instruction
  • Use technologies in the teaching/learning process.
  • Assist teachers with the selection of books and other instructional materials to meet individual literacy needs
  • Consistently assess student achievement through screening, progress monitoring, diagnostic and outcome measures.
