We are looking for an excellent Assistant Principal to join a great Secondary school team in NN2.. About the role As the school's Assistant Principal for Sixth Form, you will join our Senior Leadership Team and be responsible for:

• Developing the profile of the Sixth Form across the Academy and Community, creating a scholarly Sixth Form with an ethos of achievement • Making a leading contribution to the development of the Sixth Form Curriculum offer in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team.

• Ensuring enrichment opportunities are provided as part of the Sixth Form offer

• Taking a leading role in Sixth Form Quality Assurance, in conjunction with the Vice Principals

• Overseeing and leading on the UCAS process for Years 12 and 13 and post A Level cohort.

• Leading and organising the Sixth Form Higher Education programme in conjunction with the Head of Careers, including the preparation, checking and submission of UCAS references, building relationships with university admissions tutors and raising the awareness of Years 10 and 11 students of the criteria for university entry.

• Providing support for students applying for courses other than via UCAS, as well as alternative pathways such as apprenticeships.

• Confirming Higher Education choices and coordinate post-examination results support and guidance for students.

• Leading on marketing and public relations with our central comms team to promote develop the sixth form.

• Leading, with the assistance of the sixth form coordinator, the admissions and induction process for Sixth Form.

 

Who we are looking for:

• Qualified Teacher Status

• Proven success in a leadership role within a secondary educational setting

• Evidence of experience of manipulating and interrogating large and complex data sets

• Very strong track record of professional development

• Leadership experience with evidence of successful project / system management

• Experience of leading and motivating a team to improve standards and outcomes.

• Links with the community and external agencies

• Exemplary practitioner with a proven track record of securing good outcomes for students.

• Ability to inspire, motivate, support and challenge staff, pupils and other key partners.

• An in-depth knowledge of best practice in curriculum, teaching, learning and assessment for learning.

• Up to date knowledge of what research and inspection findings tell us about effective leadership in schools.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
