Working Hours: 7:30 AM - 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday

Job Description:

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Breakfast and After School Club Welfare Assistant to join the school’s welfare team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and safety of children attending our clubs, while engaging them in a variety of fun and educational activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision and Care: Provide attentive and caring supervision to children during breakfast and after school club hours, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Activity Coordination: Assist in planning and facilitating a range of activities, including arts and crafts, sports, games, and homework support.
  • Healthy Start: Prepare and serve nutritious breakfast options in the morning and healthy snacks in the afternoon.
  • Positive Environment: Create a warm and inclusive atmosphere where all children feel valued, respected, and encouraged to participate.
  • Behaviour Management: Implement positive behaviour management strategies in accordance with school policies, promoting good behaviour and mutual respect.
  • Communication: Build strong relationships with parents and carers, providing regular updates on children’s activities and welfare.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and any concerns that arise during club hours.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other club staff to ensure smooth operation and consistency in care and activities.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualifications: A relevant childcare qualification (e.g. CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare, or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with children in a school, childcare, or recreational setting is preferred.
  • Attributes: A nurturing, patient, and enthusiastic approach to working with children. A commitment to creating a safe, fun, and inclusive environment.
  • Safeguarding: An understanding of safeguarding principles and a commitment to promoting the welfare of children.
