Insight:

A large Welsh speaking Secondary School in Cardiff are working with Teaching Personnel to add a new member to their team.  With over 1000 students, the school is working hard to equip all students with the knowledge, skills and confidence they need for the future.  The school is looking for a hard-working Teaching Assistant to work with children 1:1, whether that be assisting Teachers in the classroom or helping with children at one of the school many sports facilities.

Responsibilities:

-          Be active and able to engage in sporting activities with children

-          Have a calming and naturing attitude to help the children to the best of your ability

-          Provide assisted tailored assistance to students with behavioural challenges, helping them engage with lessons and complete assignments.

-          Assist teachers and other behavioural staff in maintaining a positive and structured day for the children.

This will involve supporting children with Autism, ADHD, and addressing behavioural difficulties, social, emotional, and mental health challenges, as well as providing 1-to-1 support for pupils who need assistance in these areas

 

Essential:

-          Be a fluent Welsh Speaker

-          Enhanced DBS (child only) and be registered with the Education Workforce council.  We can help with this

-          Minimum of 5 GCSE A* - C

-          Strong with behaviour (experience desired by not essential)

-          Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to establish rapport with both students and staff members you’ll be collaborating with.
