Role and Responsibilities: As a Year 1 Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational journey of our young learners. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging and age-appropriate lessons that align with the Year 1 curriculum and learning objectives.
  • Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel safe, valued, and inspired to learn.
  • Assessing student progress through formative and summative assessments, and using data to tailor your teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Implementing a variety of teaching techniques, resources, and technologies to enhance student engagement and understanding.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to share best practices, discuss curriculum development, and support a cohesive learning experience across the school.
  • Communicating effectively with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on student progress, achievements, and areas for growth.
  • Fostering students' social and emotional development through effective classroom management, positive behavior reinforcement, and building respectful relationships.
  • Participating in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events to contribute to the school's growth and improvement.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant teaching qualifications.
  • Experience or familiarity with teaching Year 1 students and a strong understanding of the Year 1 curriculum.
  • Passion for working with young children, nurturing their curiosity and helping them develop foundational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with colleagues, students, and parents.
  • Dedication to creating an inclusive and diverse classroom environment that supports the needs of all students.
  • Strong organizational skills to effectively plan lessons, assess student progress, and manage classroom activities.
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the varying learning styles and abilities of students.
