Job Title: Youth Behaviour Support Assistant 
Location: B33
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people? Do you have the resilience and experience to work with students who present Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges? We are looking for a dedicated Youth Behaviour Support Assistant to join our specialist provision in B33, supporting students with SEMH needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, helping them to engage with their learning and personal development.
  • Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour, using a calm and proactive approach.
  • Work closely with teaching staff and other professionals to create a safe, supportive learning environment.
  • Assist with the development of individual behaviour support plans and interventions.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, acting as a role model and mentor.

Requirements:

  • Resilience and the ability to remain calm and patient when faced with challenging behaviour.
  • A current DBS on the update service (essential).
  • Relevant experience working with young people in environments such as youth services, support work, probation, police, prison services, or similar fields (preferable).
  • A good understanding of SEMH and strategies to support young people with these needs.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
