Youth Workers

Specialist Provisions in the Burnley area are looking to hire youth workers to support their pupils. The roles are needed due to high demand for additional support within the schools. The pupils all have SEN and an EHC plan, so require additional support both in their educational and holistic development. Some of the pupils may display challenging behaviours so the need to be able to deal with challenging situations in a calm and professional manner is paramount within these provisions in the role.

Your role is to promote good behaviours and to be a role model for the pupils, whilst ensuring they are fully supported, and their needs are being met daily. You may be required to work with pupils on a 1:1, small group, or general whole class basis dependant on the need of the school.

Key information

  • Full-time role, Monday to Friday (8:30am – 3:30pm)
  • Competitive rate of hourly pay £12.90 - £13.50 p/h
  • Burnley based (BB12)
  • No school related qualifications required
  • No school experience required but it is desirable

Requirements

  • Worked as a youth / care / support worker
  • Experience dealing with challenging behaviours and situations is desirable
  • Have full availability for the duration of the role
  • Be able to work full-time Monday to Friday
