To support this vision, we are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant with a background in youth work.

Role Overview:
Are you a former Youth Worker looking to transition into education? We are looking for someone with your unique skills to join our team as a Teaching Assistant. Your experience in youth work will be invaluable in providing tailored support to our students, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with teachers to support the learning and development of students in the classroom.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, particularly those who may be struggling with academic or personal issues.
  • Use your experience in youth work to mentor and guide students, fostering a positive and supportive environment.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of lessons, adapting materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Help manage classroom behavior and create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
  • Support students with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND), ensuring they have access to the curriculum.
  • Participate in school activities, trips, and events, promoting student engagement and well-being.

Requirements:

  • Experience working as a Youth Worker or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of the challenges faced by young people.
  • A passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Flexibility, patience, and a positive attitude towards working in a dynamic school environment.
  • Willingness to undertake further training and professional development.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in an educational setting or as a Teaching Assistant.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding practices and child protection policies.
  • An understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and how to support students with additional needs.
