Youth Worker Required in Stockport
Teaching Personnel is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Youth Worker to join an Ofsted-rated 'Good' secondary school in Stockport. This full-time position is available immediately and will continue until the end of the academic year, with the potential for the role to become permanent based on performance. The pay for this role ranges from £419.25 to £500 per week.
Role Overview:
As a Youth Worker, you will play a critical role in supporting the personal, social, and academic development of students. You will work closely with students who may be facing challenges both inside and outside of school, helping them to build resilience, confidence, and the skills needed to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
Student Engagement: Establish positive relationships with students, acting as a mentor and role model. You will support students in developing life skills, building self-esteem, and making positive choices.
Pastoral Support: Provide one-on-one and small group sessions focused on addressing the individual needs of students. This may include supporting students with behavioural difficulties, emotional challenges, or social issues.
Programme Development: Plan and deliver a range of activities and interventions that engage students and promote their wellbeing. This might include workshops, mentoring sessions, and extracurricular activities aimed at improving students' social and emotional skills.
Behaviour Management: Work closely with the school's pastoral team to support the implementation of behaviour management strategies. You will assist in creating a positive school environment where all students feel valued and supported.
Crisis Intervention: Respond to immediate issues that may arise, providing support and guidance to students in distress. You will use your training and experience to de-escalate situations and ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students.
Collaboration: Liaise with teachers, parents, and external agencies to provide holistic support for students. You will be an integral part of the school's support network, working to ensure that students have access to the resources they need.
Monitoring and Reporting: Keep detailed records of student progress and the impact of interventions. You will regularly report on student outcomes and work with the school to adapt strategies as necessary.
Parental Engagement: Work with parents and guardians to keep them informed of their child's progress and to encourage their involvement in school activities and their child's development.
