Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? Do you have experience working with children who have faced challenges in mainstream education? They are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Worker to join our team in Runcorn at a alternative provision, where we provide a supportive environment for students to thrive and achieve their potential.

About Them: The alternative provision is a unique educational setting designed to give young people, who may have special educational needs or have struggled in mainstream school, the opportunity to succeed. They offer a wide range of vocational courses, including Hair and Beauty, Construction, and more, equipping the students with the skills they need to progress to further education and beyond.

The Role: As a Youth Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting both the students and tutors. You will be responsible for providing 1-1 support and pupil intervention, helping to create a nurturing environment where students feel valued and encouraged. Your ability to connect with young people, understand their needs, and offer guidance will be crucial in helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide compassionate support to students who have experienced difficulties in mainstream education.
  • Assist tutors in delivering a range of vocational subjects, ensuring that all students are engaged and supported.
  • Offer 1-1 support and intervention to students, tailored to their individual needs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel safe and motivated.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider team to monitor and track student progress.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people, particularly those who have faced difficulties in mainstream education.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
