An exciting opportunity has arisen at a school in Ormskirk for a Head Teacher - Leading Practitioner - SEN. The successful applicant will lead the school on its continuing journey towards outstanding.
The school is a developing Outreach School which aims to embrace growth and achieve an outstanding education for pupils aged 11 -19 yrs in residential care with SEN /ASC / SEMH.
We are looking for an innovative, passionate and inspirational leader who is committed to build and develop a successful outreach school model to maximise the potential for all learners.

" Able to demonstrate a clear strategic vision for the school built on maximising potential, raising standards and creating opportunities for all young people.
Expectations and Job Description for Head Teacher with Teaching Duties
" The Head Teacher will lead in the strategic leadership and business development of the School with the governing board, senior leadership team and through consultation with the school community
" The Head Teacher will oversee the school's policies and procedures, including recruitment and selection, sickness absence, managing capability, and discipline and grievance for the education staff team.
" Identify problems and barriers to school effectiveness, and develop strategies for the school improvement that are realistic, timely and suited to the school's context
" To be committed to collegiate work, contributing to the school's Strategic Plan; School Improvement Plan and Quality Assurance
" Monitor and track progress so that the new School Outreach Model continues to grow and develop
" Assist the proprietors with budget setting and maintain effective control over the education budget by monitoring and controlling the flow of financial resources, including petty cash
The role will be full-time, working in Ormskirk but may involve other outreach sites on occasion.
Whilst a Headteacher qualification is desirable it is not essential if you are working towards it.
Strong leadership experience in SEN / ASC settings, experience of and dedication to working with looked after young people with special needs is key.
You must have Qualified teacher status and a Diploma /Degree / Masters as a teacher in Primary / Secondary Education.
It is desirable that you will hold Post Graduate SEN / SENCO; Master's Degree, Headship qualifications: e.g. National professional qualification for headship NPQH but not essential.
