An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Learning Mentor to support in the Motorsports and Agricultural Engineering Department in a local College.

The role will involve assisting students in catch up sessions, specifically targeting missed or outstanding work due to the impact of COVID 19.

You will support students with literacy / numeracy needs and basic study skills, working alongside their class teachers, in the Motrosports and Agricultural Engineering Department.

You will work with small groups (5) of students and on a 1:1 basis, assisting them to complete missed or outstanding work.

You will also liaise with the Transitions team regarding high needs funded (HNF) students and those with Education Health and Care Plans (EHCP's) assuring assistance is in accord with set targets on EHC plans, whilst supporting students with learning difficulties / disabilities, including those with SEND requirements. You will work to an agreed scheme of delivery, adapting to individual student needs as required and negotiated with the student, whilst promoting student confidence and independence to be confident in learning.

With this in mind, it would be desirable if we could source support from candidates who have a genuine interest in Motorsports and Agricultural Engineering however, this is not essential if you are committed to raising attainment in young people.

The working hours will be 9am - 5pm and the role is to start ASAP!

The pay for the day will be £76.50 per day.

Please contact me ASAP if interested in any of the above roles or send a copy of your CV to kerry.chippendale@teachingpersonnel.com
