An Outstanding SEN collage based in Kettering, is looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant (ideally with experience supporting individuals with additional needs). Pupils are aged 11-18 and have a range of SEN including ASD, MLD and social and communication needs.

Are you an experienced SEN TA wanting a different role within a collage assisting able students with ASD complete their further education courses?

MAIN DUTIES

  • Meeting the needs of students aged from 16-25 with Autism and mild learning difficulties. Students are high functioning but need the encouragement to engage and learn. 
  • Attending weekly meetings with the SENDco to review the students emotional, social, and academic needs of the students.
  • Assisting and implementing interventions that focus on building independence, communication, and life-skills.
  • To keep up to date with student’s EHCP to ensure that their personal and academic targets are met.
  • Building a co-operative and professional relationship with all members of staff, health professionals and parents.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Ideally has experience supporting students with special educational needs.
  • Good understanding of Autism spectrum disorder and how to inspire disengaged students. 
  • A versatile, inspiring, talented, and personable individual with a strong passion for supporting students to achieve, with sights firmly set on making a genuine difference.
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Will have an up-to-date Child and Adult DBS with update service or be willing to apply for a new DBS through Teaching Personnel.
  • Can provide references covering the last 2 years Please apply with an up-to-date CV.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
