A vibrant Primary school located in Colne are looking to appoint an experienced, upbeat, approachable Teaching Assistant to join their warm and welcoming team. The role is to start after the October half-term 2021 and is to work on a full-time basis with the potential for the role to turn into a permanent position. The role is to support full-time in the Year 1 class, supporting the who class by working with different ability groups, delivering Maths, English & Phonics interventions and supporting those affected by the school closures. You are also required to support the children who are reaching ‘above age related expectations’ and deliver more in-depth Maths and English interventions to ensure they are being guided to their full potential. During the afternoons you will be expected to support topic work including PE, ICT, RE, PSHE and Art.
The school is in an easily accessible location with nearby bus routes and a train station. The school is a good performing school which plays a huge part in the local community. After their last Ofsted inspection, they received an overall ‘Good’, the inspectors highlighted extra support required in KS1 around Phonics & early speech/language support. The Head Teacher has stated she has ‘high expectations for her staff and pupils’ and believes that ‘a positive attitude is the main ingredient to make a school run smoothly’. Staff and children enjoying coming to work due to the ‘family atmosphere’ that is evident. The role has been facilitated by the ‘catch up’ funding. The role is likely to be permanent due to some staff members retiring from their long service in school.
The hours will be 8:45 – 15:30
Monday – Friday
Term time only.
Pay will range from £10 - £12.50 per hour
