We are recruiting a Newly Qualified Teacher for a HLTA position at a SEN school in Torquay. This school caters for Primary and Secondary aged pupils with learning difficulties such as Autism, Attachment disorders and Trauma backgrounds. 

A HLTA will need to support in small groups and on a 1:1 basis with pupils during their lessons and other activities. There is opportunity within this position to 'step up' and cover the class during times of PPA, meetings and absences. 

The role:

  • Full time
  • SEN TA support and 'stepping up' for 'PPA' cover 
  • Temporary role to start at October half term
  • Primary and Secondary SEN School


Teaching Personnel offer competitive rates, WEEKLY PAY and do not use Umbrella companies to process your payment. 

The successful candidate will: 

  • A nurturing and patient approach to learning and understanding 
  • Availability 5 days a week, Monday to Friday 
  • Have a full UK driving licence with access to own transport (not essential as there are good bus routes to the school)
  • The aptitude to build positive relationships with students 
  • A valid DBS on the update service or be willing apply for a new one and register with the update service 

In order to work for Teaching Personnel and clear our vetting process, you must have a Child Workforce DBS subscribed to the Update Service. Full assistance will be provided should you need to apply for a new check, at a standard cost of £40, plus an annual subscription fee of £13 for the Update Service.
