Teaching Personnel are working with a school in Bishop Auckland who are looking to appoint a new SEN Teaching Assistant. Starting in September 2022, a KS2 class are needing a SEN TA to provide specialist 1-2-1 support.

The school is a friendly single form entry Primary school who have received a GOOD in their last Oftsed in 2017 and most staff have been at the school for a number of years, due to it being such a positive work environment.

The school have set out the following requirements:

  • Minimum level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Strong Experience with SEND support (Ideally ACS)
  • Excellent support and listening skills
  • Good behaviour management skills

The pupil is in a small class of 19 children and will need specialist 1-2-1 support throughout the day, whether that be outside or inside the classroom (supporting him if he needs to leave the class at any point during the day).

Any experience specific to Autism or supporting children at this very formative age would also be a significant bonus to any candidate’s application. Any experience with resources such as MAKATON and engaging and sticking to an EHCP for a child would also be desirable for the school. The more varied the experience the better.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role as well as the Right to Work in the UK. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
